It is worth noting that there are numerous
community and private museums scattered
throughout the country. There are six
peace museums established on the platform
of fostering reconciliation among the
people. Examples include Lari Memorial
Peace Museum that depicts an incident
in which many people died in the struggle
for independence.
The
Community Museums of Kenya is involved
in palaeontological work in Baringo
area of the Rift Valley. Consequently
a local museum has been established
in the vicinity as a package of cultural
tourism.
Butterfly
arranges excursions for individuals
and their families to specific areas
on request. This is usually incorporated
with learning of indigenous languages
such as Swahili, Kikuyu, Luo, Kalenjin
etc.
